Transitional Justice Was Created Out of Necessity
In many states, healthcare for trans youth and adults is under attack.
"Nobody displaced by these laws should end up homeless... We want to provide families with hope that there’s a way out. They don’t have to stay in a place where they have to go off their medication, or take their child off medication, because that is unthinkable."
– Lee Zuvanich, CoFounder and President of the Board
Our team is founded and run by transgender and queer individuals on the frontlines, many of whom are currently experiencing the same displacement. We are all very grateful for your support, donations, and willingness to spread the word and help us. This is a dire point in history and we must all work together immediately if we want to save trans lives, protect the parents and care providers of trans youth, and keep transgender people of all ages safe from harm.
Our vision is a world where all transgender people can live freely and authentically, without fear of discrimination or violence. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their gender identity or expression.
We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for transgender people, and we will work tirelessly to achieve our vision. We will provide temporary, transitional housing to those who need it most. We will also advocate for the rights of transgender people and work to change the hearts and minds of those who do not understand or accept.
We believe that everyone deserves a safe and welcoming environment where they can thrive.
Transitional Justice is a grassroots organization created for the express purpose of providing temporary and transitional housing in safer communities for transgender individuals and their families who are fleeing areas with harmful anti-transgender legislation.
We provide our services to transgender people who have been affected by anti-transgender legislation. This includes people who have been evicted from their homes, fired from their jobs, or denied access to healthcare. We also provide our services to transgender people who are simply seeking a more welcoming and accepting community.
